LBCF | Lent 2019
We invite you to join us during the Lent season as we study the New Exodus in Mark. We will also have special gatherings, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, that are a part of both our church calendar and the history of the Church.
We also dedicate this time to gather as a community in support of the Hesed School in Zambia. More info on our #heseddreams below.

The Lent Giving Project is a collective effort by the LBCF community to engage the purpose and values of Lent. In the Christian calendar, Lent is the season of 40 days leading up to Holy Week/Resurrection Sunday. The purpose of Lent is to stand in solidarity with those suffering from poverty worldwide. Historically the value of Lent is to practice some sort of sacrifice or abstinence on behalf of these brothers and sisters, and Christ himself who suffered in the wilderness. Many also choose to practice a spiritual discipline during the 40 days.
At LBCF we have participated in the Lent Giving Project to benefit one of our partnerships ministering in an impoverished context. We invite individuals, households and families to live differently in a way that generates a financial offering. This year our financial offering will be given to our partners with Hesed School in Lusaka, Zambia to help fund their dream of being housed in a safe and sustainable facility.
