What is “Homes of Hope?” LBCF joins YWAM San Diego in building homes for the poorest of the poor in Tijuana and Ensenada, Mexico.

Bringing Homes of Hope to LBCF….

This was born out of discussion with Russell Richardson and George Lewis about wanting to get involved with missions in Mexico. In October 2004 was our first trip to build a home. Our first trip was with our LBCF men’s group and since that time we have brought seven groups down and in October 2007 we will be building our eighth and ninth homes with a group of 37 people.

How Can I be a part of the “Homes of Hope” Ministry?

Serve on a Team…

When: We typically make two trips per year – our most recent trip was this past May and we have another trip planned for October of 2007. Refer to this site for more information regarding the October team.

Who: Anyone interested in serving ages 14 and up.

Cost: The cost varies - for our most recent 3 day trip was $255.00

Passports: You will need to attain passport if you do not already have one.
See: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html for information and forms. Please note that with new policies regarding Homeland Security, it may take up to 14 weeks to receive a passport!

Release forms for current trips: Please download and print the YWAM release form particular to the trip and team on which you wish to serve. Fill out the release form and return to the designated LBCF contact person.

Opportunities to give to the ministry…
Specifically for the October 2007 trip…4 ways you can help!!

1. Clothing – clean and mended, something you would be proud to hand someone personally. We are in need of clothes for men, women, and children – remember winter is coming!! Items needed include: jackets, sweatshirts, pants, shoes, shirts. – We have currently received enough clothing for our October trip, we will advise on when you can bring items for the next trip. (place in red if you can)
2. Toiletries – You can put these in a shoebox if you like – think Operation Christmas! New items only, please. Items needed include: shampoo, soap, deodorant, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, aspirin, vitamins etc. Collections of hotel toiletries are okay too! 3. Financial Support – For the October trip and/or if you wish to continue supporting the ongoing efforts of Homes of Hope, we would like to extend to you the opportunity to make a financial contribution to the ministry. Simply write a check for any dollar amount and place it in a white envelope and mark the outside “Homes of Hope” and we will be sure it goes toward building a home for a family in need! You are welcome to mail checks to LBCF (3210 Airport Way, Long Beach, Ca. 90806) or you may drop them in the offering any Sunday!

IMPORTANT: We are able to accept donated items or money in support of the October trip up until October 7, 2007.
