Dear LBCF Member,
Thank you for your interest in baptism. Please listen to the audio information by Pastor Doug Richardson to help you understand baptism: who should be baptized, why we baptize, and how we baptize. We hope you will find it informative.
Our baptisms are scheduled after our service on Sunday mornings. We ask that you plan on meeting Pastor Valerie from 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in the Library upstairs for an orientation. We ask that you bring a bathing suit to change into; the church will provide a T-shirt and a towel for you.
We desire this to be a very special time together and encourage the whole family to attend. There will be childcare provided, and we ask that those with young children please use the "crying room" if necessary.
If after listening to the audio you decide that you would like to be baptized, please fill out the Baptism Testimony Form, and submit this form online, by Fax or by mail then you will be scheduled for the upcoming baptism.
If you are a parent whose child is interested in being baptized please talk with your child about baptism and if you feel that your child is ready to be baptized, please fill out the Baptism Testimony Form, and submit this form online, by Fax (562. 989.6008) or by mail then you will be scheduled for the upcoming baptism.
The Baptism Testimony Form is also for you to write what you would like to have shared as you are baptized. Here are a couple of examples of what has been shared at other services:
These are just a few of the examples that will help you. It should be no longer than one paragraph. If you have a favorite verse you may also want to have it shared. Pastor Valerie Richardson will read your testimony immediately before you are baptized.
Please fill out the Baptism Testimony Form and return to the church no later than the Wednesday prior to the scheduled baptism date. If you have any further questions, you may contact the church office at (562) 989-6000.
